LSSU Issues 37th Annual "Banished Words" List

I always enjoy reading Lake Superior State University's annual list of banished words. The 2012 edition has some terrific selections, like "trickeration," which I've heard some NFL and college football announcers use far too often. "Ginormous" is another fine choice, and I'll bet someone has managed to use both in one sentence.

U-M website addresses safety concerns

I just wrote an article for Examiner.com about a new page on a U-M website set up to address safety concerns which have arisen due to the assaults that have taken place in Ann Arbor recently. I applaud the school for taking this action, especially with the fall semester beginning in a few weeks.
